Four new oak trees will soon be planted in Roy Duncan Park (see attached plan). The plan is to have 1 red oak planted to the north of the park bench and 3 burr oak trees planted along the slope next to 285 Churchill Avenue. The original plan was to have 6 oak trees planted along the slope. However, due to the size of mature oak trees (20 metres tall) the space only allowed for the planting of 3 trees. The 3 large oaks will provide very good screening for the adjacent resident and
shade for the park. The planting of the oak trees will complete Phase 2 of the Roy Duncan redevelopment. The planting of trees is a welcome addition to the park and our neighborhood. |
